Systems and Application Management Suite Named a 2010 Editors’ Best and Community Choice Award Winner.

NetIQ today announced that its systems and application management suite, NetIQ AppManager, earned two awards in the Management Suite category from Penton Media's Windows IT Pro magazine: a silver medal in the "2010 Editor's Best Awards" and a bronze medal in the "2010 Community Choice Awards".

"The 2010 Editors' Best Awards-presented in conjunction with our 2010 Community Choice Awards-are a recognition of our editors', contributors', and authors' favorite products of the year," said Jason Bovberg, senior editor at Windows IT Pro. "Our editorial experts' annual tradition of selecting winners based on a product's strategic importance to market, its competitive advantages, and its value to the customer is particularly significant to the Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine communities this year, as we call out exceptional products in an economically tight and highly competitive market."

NetIQ AppManager delivers comprehensive systems monitoring and management, including monitoring, reporting, analysis, diagnostics and resolution. It is designed to monitor and manage a variety of components—from physical hardware to business applications to end-user response time—to help IT organizations:

  • Reconcile system and application events with the impact to end-user services and improve the prioritization of response
  • Minimize risk when extending the use of technologies such as VMware, Unified Communications, Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange Server, Citrix XenApp and others
  • Keep pace with constant changes in a dynamic environment
  • Cost-effectively deliver tailored services
  • Gain greater control over IT assets and costs

Combined with NetIQ Aegis, which earned a silver 2010 Community Choice Award in the Best Task Automation category, NetIQ AppManager also enables IT operations to convert manual, time-intensive processes into automated tasks to improve efficiency and reallocate resources to higher-value activities.

"It is truly an honor for the readers, editors, contributors and authors of Windows IT Pro to recognize NetIQ AppManager with an Editors' Best Award and a Community Choice Award for management excellence," noted Ron Hardy, vice president of Products and Marketing at NetIQ. "Time and again, customers look to NetIQ to help them solve immediate management pains while providing greater strategic value through both long-term business improvement and cost savings. NetIQ AppManager and NetIQ Aegis are foundational to managing the increasingly complex, dynamic, and distributed nature of business applications and services. These awards are a testament to the value of our technology, service and relentless focus on customer success."
